President Prabowo Subianto, who is currently in the United States, showcased different projects during a business summit.

Prabowo likewise took this opportunity to assure US investors that there is no need to worry about Indonesia's investment climate.

Prabowo Tells US Investors Not to Worry About Indonesia's Investment Climate

According to a report by The Jakarta Globe, Prabowo spoke to business representatives and encouraged them to invest in Indonesia.

"We understand that only with stability, good governance, can there be a climate that is attractive to foreign investors," Prabowo said during the business summit. "No one wants to invest in a situation or in an atmosphere of uncertainty, instability, or even chaos."

He went on to point out that Indonesia is enjoying "quite a long period of relative stability, relative peace."

"We are all open. We want, we need investment. We want more investment … and are confident that we are competitive," Prabowo emphasized to the business leaders. "We are attractive, and have a lot of minerals that are necessary for new technologies."

Prabowo Showcases Projects During Business Summit

During his appearance at the business summit, Prabowo showcased 18 strategic projects to the business leaders present, according to a report by ANTARA News.

These projects span across the following sectors:

  • Aluminum smelting

  • Stainless steel

  • Copper processing

  • Chemical-grade alumina

  • Iron and steel

  • Coal gasification to dimethyl ether

  • Solar modules

  • Oil refining

  • Oil storage

  • Asphalt

  • Oleochemicals

  • Bioavtur

  • Seaweed processing

  • Coconut-based industries

  • Carrageenan

  • Manganese sulfate

  • Chlor-alkali plants

  • Aquaculture processing

"We are moving very fast in all these sectors, and we see Indonesia not only as an attractive market, but also as a production base and a strategic partner in the region,” Prabowo said.
