Indonesia Opts Not to Worry Too Much

According to a report by Jakarta Globe, the spokesperson at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Haryo Limanseto described Indonesia's transactions with Iran as "not significant."

"Indonesia is not too worried," he added. "We are focusing on wrapping up the negotiations with the US."

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto shared the same sentiment, according to ANTARA News.

"Indonesia's trade relations with Iran are not significant, so this policy does not raise concerns for us,” the coordinating minister said.

Back in 2023, Indonesia and Iran signed a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) to boost trade between the two Asian nations.
