Indonesia is looking to expand its seafood exports to other countries, including South Korea and Taiwan.
The push for expansion comes amidst steady growth of seafood export trends to the two countries.

Indonesia Pushes for Expanded Seafood Exports
According to a report by ANTARA News, more seafood processing units have been granted export approval to South Korea and Taiwan.
" Following inter-authority coordination and joint pre-border inspections, we received official notification approving 33 newly proposed units,” Quality Control Agency Head Ishartini said.
As a result of the new removals, there are now 710 processors that are eligible to export to South Korea, while the total for Taiwan is now at 711.
Last year, Indonesia exported 26,107 tons of seafood to South Korea worth approximately US$87.3 million. On the other hand, 57,308 tons of seafood were exported to Taiwan, valued at approximately US$106.3 million.

Expanding Seafood Exports in Japan
It has been previously reported that Indonesia is also strengthening its seafood exports to Japan as part of he amended Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA).
As part of its efforts, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries announced that it is ready to facilitate fish processing units (UPIs) seeking 0% tariff on tuna, mackerel, and skipjack heading for the East Asian country.
Indonesia hopes that, with such efforts, it can become more competitive in the global market.
