According to numerous reports, the Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry is already drafting regulation that will put this into effect.

Once the regulation comes to effect, full compliance is expected.
"Content that fails to comply would be subject to takedown measures," said the ministry's Director General of Digital Ecosystem Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, according to a report by Bernama.
The Director General also pointed out that any violation of existing laws will be sanctioned in accordance to the country's Information and Electronic Transactions law.

The Foundations of AI Governance Framework in Indonesia
The Jakarta Globe notes in its report that this planned regulation seeks to support two presidential regulations that will essentially form the foundations of Indonesia’s AI governance framework.
The first one is the National AI Roadmap that will outline priority sectors for AI adoption. This will include 10 areas such as food security, transportation, and logistics, as well as programs like regional mapping and the free meals program.
The second is a regulation on AI ethics, which will require the issuance of sector-specific rules on the use and deployment of AI.
"AI must be deployed with proper cybersecurity and safeguards,” said Edwin. “Developers need to ensure protections are in place so data leaks do not occur.”
