Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) show that European tourists are the biggest spenders among international tourists who visit Indonesia.
According to the data, European tourists spend around Rp 32.2 million (approximately US$1,916.5) per visit.

European Tourists Spend the Most Among International Visitors
The Jakarta Globe says in its report that European tourists tend to stay at an average of 16.75 days, according to BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Ateng Hartono.
"Tourists from Europe tend to stay much longer, which directly translates into higher spending,” said Ateng.
Coming in at second place in terms of tourist spending are the tourists from the Americas, led by tourists who come from the United States. Tourists from Africa take third place, led by tourists hailing from South Africa.
Data also shows that tourists from Southeast Asia have the lowest average spending, which has been recorded at around Rp 11.10 million or US$661.91. Tourists from Southeast Asia also tend to stay the shortest in Indonesia.

Indonesia Sees Rise in Foreign Tourist Arrivals for 2025
It has been previously reported that Indonesia recorded a rise in international tourist arrivals for 2025.
According to a report by ANTARA News, international tourist arrivals rose by 10.44% between January and November 2025. This translates to 13.98 million tourists.
Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said that tourists from the following countries account for the majority of tourist arrivals:
- Australia
- China
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- Timor-Leste
The following airports served as primary gateways for international tourists to Indonesia:

Soekarno-Hatta in Jakarta
Juanda in Surabaya
Kualanamu in Medan
Yogyakarta International Airport
