Ormas Barred From Raiding Restaurants During Ramadan

Jakarta is also making it clear that mass organizations locally known as ormas are barred from raiding restaurants that have chosen to stay operational during Ramadan.

According to a report by Tempo, the policy came from Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung himself.

"The directive focuses on strengthening tolerance, mutual respect, and maintaining public order so that the fasting month can proceed smoothly for all residents," said Special Staff for Public Communications to the Governor Cyril Raoul Hakim.

"Actions that create unrest or vulnerability will not be tolerated," he added. "On the contrary, initiatives that promote comfort and harmony are fully supported."
